Allergy Tests
We offer both skin and blood testing. Our team will help you determine the best route based on your needs and desires.

Skin Tests
We offer two options for skin testing, the puncture testing (which is done with a comblike tool) and intradermal testing (done with syringes with small needles). Skin tests are sensitive and fast, allowing results within the same day. Please note we have a list of medications to discontinue using for a week prior to testing.

Blood Tests
If you find it hard to be off the required medications for the skin testing we can write you a prescription to do a RAST blood test in an outside lab.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will testing be covered by my insurance?
Prior to making an appointment with our office, we strongly recommend calling your insurance company to ensure that your specific policy is in-network with our office. We also recommend you check your coverage for the two procedure codes 95004 and 95024. Plan restrictions can include geographical limitations, or may limit you to a specific group of authorized providers. If you have an Affordable Care Plan, it is highly recommended that you double-check with your plan for coverage.
How long does the appointment take?
Please allow one hour to arrive for the appointment, complete necessary patient paperwork, complete in-office testing, and review test results.
Are there any medications that should be held prior to testing?
Please review our list of medications to discontinue for one week prior to your appointment.

Our office tests for 50 environmental inhalants, including trees, grasses, weeds, molds, cat and dog dander, and dust mites.
For the skin tests, what areas will be used for the test?
We cater to our patients needs with all skin tests. Generally we will use the back for testing or can test on the arms if needed.
Are there limitations following the testing/side effects?

These symptoms often clear up within hours, but may last a few days. Mild antihistamine or cortisone creams can alleviate these symptoms. We recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity for the rest of the day after testing.
When will the results be known?
